Weekly Update 11/27

Good afternoon families!

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families and have been enjoying some time off.

This month I will highlight our ESPs. Our ESPs go above and beyond each and every day to help our students whether it be in small group settings, greeting them while they are on duty, or when they take on the role of a teacher during an absence. This week I would like to spotlight our newest ESPs who started this year:

Callie Fitzgerald works  in our TLC program. She is very familiar with Tilton School having attended school events even before she began working here. She began to sub for us last year and this year joined our team. She assists students within the TLC room as well as in the general education setting. She has built strong relationships with students and staff.

Mandie Bentley works in Kindergarten. She can be seen greeting all students in the morning with her bright smile. She has brought much creativity to the classroom she services and never shies away from going the extra mile.

Amy Szarek works in Kindergarten. She has not hesitated to jump right in and take on small groups and whole class lessons. She has made strong connections not only with students in her classroom but across the Kindergarten team.

Jack Allard works in our TLC program. He is often outside with student at recess or taking students for walkin breaks. He works to find students’ likes and build connections.

Fall Fundraiser
The cookie dough is being delivered to school tomorrow around 2:30. Cookie Dough will be in the gym. We ask that you not park directly on Hancock as it is close to dismissal. You may park in the lot and come along the sidewalk by the playground area nearest Boston St, or park along Boston St. If your child is car pick up or a walker and you  prefer your child bring it home with them, please let your child’s teacher know so the student can go down and grab it.

Jingle Bell Hop
Once again you will find us caroling through the neighborhood! Join us on December 6th at 6:00 on the playground side of the building. We will have lyrics to some popular songs as well as the backing of a speaker so we all sound like famous singers. We will then enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies!

Holiday Concert
Our annual Holiday Concert will be held at the Haverhill High School auditorium this year from 6:00-7:00. Students should arrive by 5:30. We will have a bus to bring families in a need of a ride to and from the concert. It will leave Tilton at 5:15 and leave the high school shortly after the end of the concert. We will send out a slip to sign up for the bus.

Dining for a Cause
We will have a fundraiser at Papa Gino’s on Thursday, November 30th from 4:00-9:00. Valid for Dine in, Carry out, Online and Delivery orders. See the flyers for details for online ordering and walk-in or phone orders. Tilton Elementary School.pdf

A Note from the Health Office
Per the CDC guidelines, if you are exposed/in close contact with someone who tests positive for Covid, quarantine is no longer required or recommended for children or staff. All exposed individuals may continue to attend programming as long as they remain asymptomatic i.e. fever free. Please contact the Health Office if you have any questions. Thank you,
Nurse Christi
Nurse Lisa
Nurse Veronica

Checking in at the office
Please make sure if you need to drop something off or see the school nurse that you first check in at the main office. You will sign in and be given a visitor badge to wear while you are in the building. Families should not be going up or down stairs, unless you are here for an event in a different location. On those occasions, you will sign in and out on a specific sign in sheet and be directed to that location.

Device insurance info
All students in HPS receive a chromebook and a charger. We strongly recommend all families sign up for device insurance to cover any loss or damage. You can sign up here. The deadline has been extended to December 1st. THIS IS THE LAST OPPORTUNITY TO ENROLL!

Should you not opt in for insurance, you will be accountable for any damage or loss. We have seen an increase in cracked screens or lost chromebooks.  If your child cannot locate his/her chromebook, we will need to mark your device lost and issue an invoice.
