SITE COUNCIL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

October 21, 2026
Dear Tilton Families and Community Members,

Are you looking for a meaningful way to partner with our school and directly impact our students' education? We are currently seeking volunteers to serve on our School Site Council for the upcoming school year!

What Does the Site Council Do?
Unlike our PTO/PTA (which focuses on events and fundraising), the Site Council is an advisory body of parents, teachers, staff, and community members who focus on academic achievement and strategic planning. As a member, you will:
  • Guide Academic Priorities: Review student progress data and help shape our annual School Improvement Plan.
  • Inform Budget Decisions: Provide input on how state and federal program funds are allocated for learning resources, tutoring, and student support.
  • Enhance School Safety & Culture: Help review safety plans and school-wide family engagement initiatives.

Who Can Join & What Is the Time Commitment?
  • Who: Any parent, guardian, or local community member passionate about our school.
  • Commitment: We meet once a month for approximately 60 minutes (in-person/hybrid options available). No prior experience in education or governance is required, just a desire to collaborate and support our school!
How to Get Involved
If you are interested in running for an open parent/community seat or would like to learn more, please submit a brief expression of interest by Wednesday, October 28, 2026:

👉 Google Form or reply directly to this email at terrence.conant@haverhill-ps.org.

Thank you for your partnership, dedication, and support in making Tilton the best environment for our students to learn and grow.

Warmly,

Terrence Conant, M.Ed., CAGS
Tilton Elementary School Principal
