For those of you new to Tilton School, WELCOME! We are very excited for you to join our amazing school community. For those returning, WELCOME BACK! I am beginning my third year as the principal of Tilton Lower and Upper Schools, but my 9th year overall at Tilton. Almost every Sunday you can count on this weekly update to inform you of important dates, recaps of things going on in the school, and reminders of events, policies, etc. This first email includes links to our schools websites, back to school information, and information about device insurance. As we get closer to school, we will include reminders about our drop off and pick up procedures.
Open House
Open House will be held on Monday, August 29th. It will be held outdoors where teachers will be set up by grade level to meet and welcome students to school. We will have tours available for families who wish to take a look around the building. Please see times below:
Tilton Lower School (Grades K-3, 70 Grove St.): Open House is from 4:00-5:30
Tilton Upper School (Grades 4 & 5, 415 Primrose St (old St. James School)): Open House is from 4:30-6:00
The first day of school is Tuesday, August 30th.
Teacher Assignments
You will be able to log on to the parent portal the week of August 22nd and see your child’s teacher assignment. They will not be posted anywhere else other than the portal. Please see the district website for instructions on how to sign up and/or log in: https://www.haverhill-ps.org/parents-students/
Device Insurance
Haverhill Public Schools has chosen School Device Coverage (SDC) to insure the devices that will be given to your student as part of this year’s 1:1 device program. For only $20 per student, this insurance program will protect you and your student(s) in the event that your device is lost, stolen, or damaged accidentally over the course of the school year. Supply Lists
On each school‘s website you will see a post labeled “Wish Lists”. We provide everything students will need, however, we know how exciting it can be to go out and purchase specials notebooks, folders, pencil cases, etc. These lists are merely recommendations, not requirements. We do request that all students bring in a reusable water bottle as we no longer have regular fountains. We only have bottle filling stations. Our office staff is still out of the buildings until August 15th. My administrative team and I will be out of the buildings this week attending Leadership meetings to prepare for the upcoming school year.
