Weekly Update 1/9

Good afternoon families!

I hope you all had a restful vacation. Students are already back into the swing of things at school this week. I even noticed some friends who did work over the vacation week!

Weather and Recess
As the Superintendent stated in her email last week, we do go out as often as we can provided it is not steadily raining or too cold. Please make sure your child wears appropriate outdoor gear. I know some students dislike wearing a coat, so perhaps sending an extra sweatshirt. Students will go outside wearing whatever they are sent in wearing. If you would like your child to wear boots outside for puddles, please make sure to send them with regular shoes if they have PE that day.

ACCESS Testing
Our Multilingual learners will be taking ACCESS testing starting this week. ACCESS testing involves assessment in the areas of speaking, reading, writing and listening. Testing will span the next 3 weeks to ensure all students are able to take each section of the test. Encourage your child to get a good night’s sleep and have breakfast the morning of and not to stress, just do their best!

Tutoring
If your child has received a permission slip to attend after school tutoring, please make sure to return the siip. Even if you are not interested, please send it back stating you are not interested.
