Weekly Update 3/11

Good afternoon families! We “spring ahead” this weekend so make sure to change your clocks! Here are today’s updates and reminders.

Morning Arrival

We have seen some good improvements in our morning drop off. We thank you all for adhering to our procedures as we work to ensure student, staff, and family safety. As a reminder, please use the crosswalk when crossing Grove St.

As the weather gets nicer, we know more and more families will be walking. We would like to remind families whose students walk alone that should they arrive at school before 8:45, they should wait on the porch and not be running around in the school lot, playscape, or front yard. No student should be dropped off before 8:45.

MCAS
MCAS testing is one month away. We ask Grades 3 & 4 families to look at these dates and avoid scheduling appointments or vacations during these dates. As we get closer, we will send out more information.

ELA
Grade 3 April 3 & 4
Grade 4 April 10 & 11

Math
Grade 3 May 21 & 22
Grade 4 May 15 & 16

Chromebooks

As a reminder, please make sure your child brings his/her chromebook to school charged every day. If your child has lost or broken the chromebook, please let the school know so we can have it replaced.

Grade 4 Families:
As part of the Health and Wellness curriculum, students in 4th grade will receive 3 lessons centered around Vaping. We recently sent home informational letters as to the purpose of these lessons. It also provides you an opportunity to have your child “opt out” of these lessons. They will go to a different special when their class is to have these lessons. To opt out, you must notify your child’s teacher. These lessons will begin in April.

Bus Passes

If your child needs a new bus pass, please make sure to let the office know. All students who ride the bus must be swiping on and off the bus in the morning and the afternoon. Please remind your child to do this.
