Weekly Update 5/6

Good afternoon families!

This week we kick off Teacher Appreciation Week! TIlton is so blessed to have such outstanding teachers and paraprofessionals! This week they will enjoy some fun surprises! The PTO always appreciates donations and/or gift cards to Market Basket or BJ’s to support their effort to shower our teachers with fun!

Monday-students can dress in their best Taylor Swift Eras tour outfits or proudly wear their Tilton Tiger gear or blue/orange/white to honor their ROCKSTAR teachers.

MCAS
Math MCAS is just around the corner. We ask families to avoid any appointments on the testing days when possible.

PTO UPDATES

Restaurant Night
Chuck E Cheese is coming! On May 10th, we will have a visit from Chuck E. Cheese ahead of our restaurant night! Join us at Chuck E. Cheese from 3:00-close for a fun night out. A portion of the proceeds comes directly back to Tilton. A flyer will be going home this week with students complete with a sticker for free tokens!.

Tigermania
Tigermania is Tuesday, June 4th from 5:00-7:00 in the Playground area/Hottop

At our meeting on Thursday, we discussed our upcoming Tigermania. Kelly Barnes created a spreadsheet for families and staff to sign up for things that they can donate, whether it be items for raffle, paper goods, food, etc.We also look for cakes/cupcakes/treats for our Cake Walk.  If you’d like to help man some of the tables to help for a part of the event, take a look and sign up! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZphS2-u_e5ftUvFOciLhYBj1gozwGH9UOFUCVCa_szU/edit?usp=sharing

Food and drinks will be available for purchase. We will also have raffle items where you can purchase tickets to have a chance to win items. We will also have our famous Cake Walk. Think Musical Chairs meets Pick a number.

Each grade level will be asked to donate items for their grade level raffle baskets. See the themes below! Please have any donations in by May 24th.

Kindergarten: Baking (if donating food type items, please be sure they are non perishable)
Grade 1: Movie Night
Grade 2: Ice Cream party (no actual ice cream please)
Grade 3: Summer Fun
Grade 4: Game Night

We will have organizations from the community to provide information and fun as well. Haverhill Fire and Police Departments, YMCA, Haverhill Public Library. This is a big community event and we hope to see many of you there!

Boxtops
Did you know that when you shop for groceries, you may be able to help our school raise money? Boxtops for Education has innovative ways to get schools money. Many products support Boxtops for Education. You simply need to scan your receipt! Don’t have time, send them in to school and we will do it for you!

PTO is always looking to expand its membership. We are recruiting now for the 2024-2025 SY. We hope to set some fundraising goals to increase participation (ideas: musical playground, playground equipment/storage, flowers/plants for out front, events/experiences for students, staff appreciation). PTO will have a table at Tigermania with more info and a sign up!

Register for K
Do you have a child who will be 5 by September 1? Be sure to register them for Kindergarten early! Set up an appointment with registration by calling 978-420-1951 and attend the final Kindergarten Information Session being held on May 16th from 6:00-7:30 at Hunking School!

Summer Activities Fair on May 18th!
This is an exciting event where families can discover FREE and low-cost activities to keep kids entertained and engaged all summer long. From camps, to sports, to arts and crafts, there’s something for every interest! See the attached flyer!

ATTENTION GRADE 4 Families
Consentino is hosting a community night on June 5th from 5:00-6:30 to welcome their incoming grade 5 students. Students and families will be able to tour the school, learn about the variety of extracurricular activities they offer, and get to see pictures of the new school being built! Flyers have been sent home with students.
